ON VIEW: APRIL 15, 2022 – MAY 7, 2022

OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 2022 FROM 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

We are proud to announce our upcoming ACCESS/PRINT and LOOK/SEE Annual Student Exhibitions. These exhibitions will showcase artwork created by teen artists who participated in our Access/Print program, as well as select partnerships with K-12 schools. The public is invited to a free opening reception on Friday, April 15 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm.

Access/Print is a free mentorship program that hosts 8 –10 outstanding teen artists each school year. Each teen receives over 70 hours of studio access and instruction in the printmaking arts to create a body of work. Artists include; Sal Burkhardt, Nina Holding Eagle-Bushaw, Sloane Fischer, Anisah Hassan, Alice O'Brien, Bridget Wallace, and Erik Westgard.

Look/See: Throughout the school year Highpoint hosts hands-on printmaking classes for visitors from the metro area and beyond. This year’s exhibition will showcase two programs:

New Country School students grades 7-12 learned about the history of Japanese woodblock printmaking, Mokuhanga, and created their own prints using traditional techniques.

The Creative Clean Water Stewards Project, funded by Hennepin County Green Partners. Nellie Stone Johnson Elementary and Burroughs Community School 5th grade students learned about being stewards in their local environment through activities, poetry, and printmaking projects.
