LOOK/ SEE! 2005–2006

An exhibition of original prints made at Highpoint by metro-area students
Friday, May 5, 2006, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
May 5, 2006 – May 19, 2006

The LOOK/SEE! exhibit features prints made by metro-area students during the 2005–2006 school year. Every year, Highpoint partners with dozens of area schools to share the fun of printmaking with Minnesota’s youth. Student visitors range in age from 8–18 and represent diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In a typical school partnership, up to 25 students visit HP as a group and spend several hours learning about and creating prints. Monotype, drypoint, and relief printmaking are techniques of choice for these classes because of their immediacy and simplicity—with these methods, anyone can produce several prints in just an hour or two.
