Carolyn Swiszcz News
Twin Cities-based Highpoint artist Carolyn Swiszcz was invited by author Dylan Hicks to make the cover for his second novel, Amateurs, which was published by Coffee House Press in May 2016. Carolyn used her signature techniques of stencil, monotype, and rubber stamp to illustrate the book’s cast of characters.

Born and raised in New Bedford, MA, Carolyn Swiszcz attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she earned a BFA in 1994. She spent three winters in Miami on a fellowship from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. This program culminated with an exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC in 2000. Swiszcz has participated in numerous recent exhibitions, including solo shows at OSP Gallery, Boston; Wendy Cooper Gallery, Chicago; gallery co, Minneapolis; and forthcoming in September at M.Y. Art Prospects, New York. Her work has also appeared in group exhibits at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Islip Art Museum, East Islip, NY; and at The Drawing Center, New York. Swiszcz was awarded a 2002 Bush Foundation Fellowship, among other grants. She lives in Saint Paul. Her work is represented in the Microsoft Art Collection and at the Minnesota Historical Society.
