Clarence Morgan

Clarence Morgan’s abstract art reflects an interest in geometry and line. He combines painting, drawing and collage to create intricate works that represent order among chaos.

He has received grants from the McKnight, Jerome, and Bush Foundations, and the National Endowment for the Arts. His work is in the permanent collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis Institute of Art, and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, among numerous other museums, galleries, and institutions.

Morgan lives and works in the Twin Cities. He has been a faculty member at the University of Minnesota for over two decades, serving as Chair of the Department of Art from 2004 – 2010.
