This course is a four week introduction to creating surrealist drypoint prints using recyclable plastic plates, water washable oil based inks, and an etching press. Along the way we will practice mark making and experiment with water-soluble monotype techniques to help tap into our creative subconscious.

This class is for all levels with no prerequisites, so beginner printmakers are welcome.

About the instructor: Mads Golitz is a printmaker and educator living in the midwest. They encourage exploration and experimentation in their students' work as well as their own. Their practice is currently focused on symbolic imagery using intaglio and monotype techniques.
