Curated by Tanekeya Word and Delita Martin, this marks the first national exhibition curated by Black women printmakers highlighting the experimental prints of Black women printmakers.

A printmaking program for high school students
The prints in this exhibit were produced by eight local high school students. Over the course of ten week sessions, they worked with professional artist mentors to develop new printmaking skills, propose a plan and create an original print series for display in Highpoint’s gallery.

Winter Cooperative Exhibition
Highpoint Center for Printmaking is pleased to announce Prints on Ice, an exhibition and sale hosted by members of its printshop cooperative. Original lithographs, screenprints, intaglio, relief prints and monoprints will be presented during the 14th Highpoint Cooperative Exhibit December 5–January 3.
Visitors to the exhibition will view prints by Santiago Cucullu, Rob Fischer, Adam Helms, Lisa Nankivil, and Jessica Rankin, all created in collaboration with Highpoint Editions.
Summer Cooperative Exhibition
The public is invited to join the artists along with their families and friends at the opening reception Friday, July 11, from 6:30–9:00 PM. Entrance to the reception is free, and beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cooperative show openings are fun, informal events where visitors can mix with printmakers and learn about their work in the same space in which prints are produced.

Original Prints by Metro-area Students

Donovan Durham
Donovan was able to create orginal prints at Highpoint. This project culminated in a show of his work, with special invites extended to everyone at Interact Center for Visual and Performing Arts where Durham creates his artwork regularly.
Love, Magic, and Ceremony
Highpoint Center for Printmaking proudly presents Yilpinji: Love, Magic, and Ceremony, a collection of prints by Kukatja and Warlpiri people of Australia’s Tanami Desert region.

Contemporary Printmakers from Pakistan will feature over sixty works by artists from all regions of Pakistan, reflecting the visual and methodological diversity of their art world.
This fall, Highpoint and Grupo Soap del Corazon (a Twin Cities-based Latino arts group) will come together for Gráfica Política, featuring the creation and exhibition of new prints by Latino artists.

Print Show and Spoken Word
Highpoint has been working for the past few months on an exciting partnership with Jefferson Community School, in conjunction with our neighbor Intermedia Arts. With the help of Intermedia’s Theresa Schulz, local spoken word artist Desdamona, and Jefferson School Principal Ray Aponte, we have created a unique project that draws together spoken word pieces, performance, and printmaking.
A Border Crossing Project
Created to honor the everyday visions and creations of women, the Project features work by 165 artists of varying disciplines, from 24 different countries.

Eric Avery
The public is invited to visit Highpoint as we host an exhibition of prints by renowned psychiatrist and artist Eric Avery. The show, titled A Life In Art And Medicine, will feature a variety of both recent and older works (most will be available for purchase.)
Todd Norsten
The exhibition will feature Norsten’s new suite of five intaglio prints, four individual editioned prints, and additional unique works.

Contemporary Prints inspired by the Ukiyo-e Tradition
We are pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition of prints by printmaker Keiji Shinohara, to be on view at Highpoint from March 15 thru May 2, 2003. Mr. Shinohara is well-known throughout the United States for his mastery of the thousand-year-old Japanese woodcut process known as ukiyo-e, also known as “pictures of the floating world.”
Highpoint is honored to host an exhibition of prints by prolific Minneapolis artist Malcom Myers (1917 – 2002).

Noted artist and printmaker Linda Schwarz visited the Highpoint professional printshop for two weeks in February 2002 to work with Master Printer Cole Rogers on a new print project, culminating in this exhibit.

Join us in celebrating the first edition published by Highpoint Center: a suite of five intaglio prints by David Rathman, printed by Master Printer Cole Rogers. The Minneapolis-based artist brings a touch of the West to Highpoint with his one-man show, Five New Etchings.

Visiting Artist Gendron Jensen will meet with visitors and talk about his work.

“New Pulls” a collaboration between Highpoint and Kevin Quandt Fine Art, presents four printmakers whose work offers unique visions of the human condition. These artists’ images encompass dark humor and psychology, the rural south, the seven deadly sins, and mask-like portraits of unknown peoples. Join us at Highpoint for an Opening reception, including food and drink, on friday April 5, 6:30 – 9:00 PM.
