“Blessings is one of three-part project which explores my personal experience of pregnancy and birth. The abstract images record my shifting emotions through flows of energy.

“I fell in love with etching twelve years ago and decided to be an artist. I have always liked etching because it allowed me to draw with sharp lines and flat shapes. Etching pushes me to be precise, which I am not. Etching commands me to conduct more tests than I am willing to do. There is no such thing as a shortcut or rushing in etching.”

Kimyibo earned her B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea.
