Highpoint is excited to present Molly Hanrahan's new exhibit in the Threshold gallery. The artist offered the following remarks:
Our natural environment served as the stimulus for the creation of these prints. Using birds, insects, landforms, skyscapes, rocks, and water as my inspiration, I sought to simplify and capture the shapes, forms, and textures found in nature.
I am fascinated by the endless possibilities inherent within printmaking. My collaboration and exploration with inks, paper, and process allow my imagery to develop and express my ideas drawn from my experiences in nature. These prints were made using the techniques of intaglio, relief, and collagraph.
