ESTE NO SOY YO / THIS IS NOT ME

The monotype is a classic graphic technique situated between drawing, painting and printing. Through drawing or painting with oils or inks on a plate and then stamping it on a given material (whether paper or textiles) we can obtain a singular impression called a monotype. This process then must be repeated for each stamping, hence creating a unique image.

In this workshop, participants will learn & deepen their understanding of the monotype process, working primarily with representations of the human face. Taking advantage of turns of chance and the particularities of materials through this technique, students will create their own series of monotype portraits.
