This class is meant to create a safe space for Minnesota artists from racial and ethnic communities that have been underrepresented. Participants will come together and talk about their creative practice to help enrich each artist’s visual and written work. Artists will have the chance to share their projects and ask for feedback on what would be most helpful to them. We will develop a comfortable environment to have positive and meaningful conversations about each person’s work. This class will be used as a space to help further augment your studio time and talk about risks and new directions in your practice.

About the instructor: Tessa Hyndman (she/they)  is a dedicated artist with a passion for collaboration and education. Their practice sits at the intersection of collecting, exploring and depicting personal and familial folklore, combining media and bridging the realms of 2 and 3D. As an educator, they have worked with youth and adult students in teaching silicone mold making, resin casting, and various printmaking techniques. Tessa aims to cultivate warm and upbeat spaces that foster creativity and critical thinking.
