This exhibit spans 5 years of Kristin’s co-op membership at Highpoint with two works that poke at the boundaries of traditional fine art printmaking. Along with screenprinting, it incorporates elements of digital photography, textile and book arts, and includes an interactive opportunity as part of the installation. Kristin writes: “I’m grateful for the support I’ve received during my non-formal and continuing education in printmaking at Highpoint as well as for the community of the artists nurtured here. “
About the artist:
Kristin is a visual artist, living and working in Minneapolis since graduating with a BS in Design from the University of Cincinnati. Her studio practice incorporates her professional background in photography and art direction and encompasses her continuing efforts to interpret and record her experiences. In 2017 she began her printmaking training as an intern in the Education department at Highpoint. She later served as Teen Mentor for the Access/Print program, and then joined the co-op to continue her studies through Highpoint classes and the wonderful community of teaching artists in the area. She has in turn taught many sampler classes and workshops in various methods and has assisted both visiting and other teaching artists as well. Read (and see) more at kristinbickal.com.
