Learning for all ages
Highpoint Center for Printmaking partners with Minnesota schools and organizations to provide printmaking workshops for youth and artists of all ages. Since our founding in 2001, we have partnered with hundreds of school groups and engaged over 100,000 students!
K-12 Youth Field Trips are designed to teach printmaking techniques to students in all grade levels – no experience necessary – and are custom fit for age, technique, group size, and accessibility. Workshops include a tour of the galleries, professional instruction, materials, and equipment to create hand-made prints that students can take home! Schools with Title 1 status can attend workshops at no cost and apply for bussing scholarships.
Group Workshops: we offer printmaking classes for college groups, organizations, businesses, and community members by request! Your group can learn together about printmaking, visit the Highpoint print archives, and create work to take home.
Adult Workshops: Highpoint works with skilled teaching artists to host a variety of printmaking workshops, from beginner to advanced, critique sessions, and specialty experiences.
Free Ink Days: Family and community days at Highpoint that are truly designed for all ages! Each event varies in technique, but all materials are nontoxic and provided by Highpoint. Participants can stop by, learn about printmaking, and make work!
Internship and Apprentice Printer Programs: throughout the year, Highpoint hosts paid internships in the education department and studio (professional printshop and exhibitions), where interns can gain experience in teaching, working in a printshop, collaboration, installation, and more. Our Apprentice Printer program is a 2-year paid learning experience working alongside Lead Printers and artists to create and edition fine art in the Highpoint Editions Studio.
