Youth Field Trips
Highpoint Center for Printmaking (HP) offers dynamic K-12 youth workshops that cater to students of all experience levels. These workshops are thoughtfully designed to accommodate various age groups, techniques, group sizes, and accessibility needs, ensuring an inclusive and enriching experience for all participants.
Each workshop includes:
An engaging gallery tour, where students can explore the world of printmaking and gain inspiration from professional works.
Demonstrations of printmaking techniques, providing students with a foundational understanding of the art form.
Hands-on learning, where students actively engage in the printmaking process.
The use of professional-grade tools and equipment, guided by experienced instructors.
By the end of the workshop, each student will have created their own handmade prints to take home, serving as a tangible reminder of their creative journey at Highpoint.
These workshops are perfect for fostering creativity, learning new skills, and deepening an appreciation for the art of printmaking.
*We prefer at least three weeks notice to schedule a class workshop to coordinate and order materials.*
Instructions/accommodations:
Field trips will be approved in the order they are received. We work to have no more than 2 field trips on the same day.
No later than 5 days prior to the field trip, please share a student and chaperone list of all who will be attending along with any accessibility needs/accommodations.
Group size: Most Highpoint classes can accommodate up to 30 students. Screen printing classes are best for high school-aged students and have a maximum of 12 participants.
Scholarships: Title 1 schools (40% of students on free/reduced lunch) can attend workshops at Highpoint at no cost and apply for bussing scholarships.
Below are printmaking workshop examples by age group. Most workshops occur within a 2-hour timeframe, though some class options require more time to complete. This is meant as a starting place, and we will work with you directly to schedule and custom-fit your workshop based on class size, interest, and accessibility needs. Most workshops take place in Highpoint's classroom, but off-site and schoolroom visits are also available.
