This 8 week course will be for people with a basic knowledge of screenprinting looking to expand their mark making vocabulary, hone their skills, and tackle persistent problems. Participants will work both with hand drawn techniques as well as digital means of image making.
This class will feature an open format for students to work on their specific challenges in screen printing. Most classes will be structured work time with demonstrations driven by the interest of the students. Participants will have access to graphic programs as well as a large format printer to print films. Screens and basic supplies will be available for use during the class.

About the instructor: Jon Mahnke grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended the University of Iowa as an undergraduate and received his masters degree in printmaking from the University of Minnesota. Jon, his wife Laura and dog Clancy live in Roseville, Minnesota where they share a printing and illustration business, “Crankosaurus Press”. He also continues to work on fine art both in his home studio and as a co-op member at Highpoint Center for Printmaking.
