The Rain Garden Monoprint class combines environmental education and printmaking. In this indoor/outdoor, hands-on workshop, students learn the basics of the water cycle and how a rain garden works. Each student is assigned a native plant to identify and collect a leaf from the Highpoint Rain Garden. Next, students will use the leaves to make a monoprint using soap and water-soluble oil-based inks. Students can expect to make 2 prints.
Classes are 2 hours in length. This course is designed for 3rd-5th grade students but can be modified for older groups.
This course is available based on the condition of our rain garden. It is generally not available in the colder months.
