We’re delighted to introduce Lynnette Black, another member of Highpoint’s member co-op! Here Lynnette speaks about her piece featured in our 2020 Prints on Ice exhibition.

This year the pandemic, as for so many artists, disrupted the creative process and turned everything on its head. Lynnette’s work has long dealt with energy, spirituality, what she refers to as “life force.” For her, this piece seemed to force a new approach that resulted in some catharsis, which began by tearing up plates from a piece she created several years prior. This blazed a path for discovery through the use of additional techniques, allowed for more immediacy with color and provided a liberation of her process. Enjoy our interview with Lynnette below.
